eflpublished to become CounterPress's first multi-league outlet covering the EFL

New season, new era. Fans across the EFL have a new home for high-quality coverage of the English football pyramid, as eflpublished arrives on CounterPress in time for the 2026/27 season.

Launching on August 3, eflpublished promises to deliver intelligent, insightful and impartial coverage of Championship, League One and League Two football.

The site is fronted by the founders of eflpublished, Joel Grainger, Lewis Waters and Joel Colson. This team built the brand from the ground up during their time at university, with its sharp, fan-first coverage of the English Football League earning an audience of more than 27,000 followers across Instagram and X.

Now, after graduating, they are focused on forming a team of young journalists, united by an obsession with the English football pyramid and a belief that the EFL deserves coverage every bit as serious as the top-flight.

The move to CounterPress marks the next step for the outlet, converting a thriving social media brand into a home for long-form editorial, and offering supporters a depth of coverage that short-form platforms simply cannot provide.

On eflpublished, members can look forward to reactive opinion-based columns and headline roundups outlining the stories of the season across the Championship, League One and League Two, alongside regular long-form features and analysis, from tactical deep dives to the engaging stories of clubs and characters across all 72 teams.

"We have built our audience on social media by taking the whole EFL seriously. CounterPress gives us the platform to go deeper: proper long-form writing, with a chance to convey our informed opinions and tell the stories that we feel really matter."

Joel Grainger, eflpublished

Joel said: “eflpublished exists because three fanatical EFL fans love this league and think it deserves a fresh and dedicated approach to coverage. The EFL is made up of 72 clubs and thousands of worthy stories every season, far too many of which go untold.

“We have built our audience on social media by taking the whole EFL seriously. CounterPress gives us the platform to go deeper: proper long-form writing, with a chance to convey our informed opinions and tell the stories that we feel really matter.

“As an outlet, we are all highly excited for what is to come and cannot wait to start producing content that is impactful and insightful. Every membership directly backs three budding journalists determined to cover the EFL like no one else.”

eflpublished’s early interest waiting list is now open, ahead of the full launch next month.

The site is the first title on CounterPress dedicated to coverage of multiple leagues. It joins a growing roster of club-specific football outlets across the Premier League, EFL and National League.

Prominent titles across the divisions include The Moonraker (Swindon Town), Full Throstle (West Bromwich Albion), From Bromley With Love (Bromley FC), The Brighton Base (Brighton & Hove Albion), Saturday White Fever (Fulham) and The 1878 (Manchester United).

"Joel and his team are young, enthusiastic, engaged recent graduates of sports journalism school, for whom entry to the industry is increasingly difficult. “If CounterPress can help them own their futures instead of having to fight for a pittance elsewhere... it’ll have achieved exactly what it has been built for."
